INDIANAPOLIS—Hurco distributor Brooks Associates will demonstrate the power of Hurco 5-axis technology at Eastec Booth 1206. The Hurco 5-axis VMX30Ui has an integrated trunnion-style 5-axis machine with X/Y/Z travels of 30/20/20.5 inches, a 12,000 rpm spindle, and rapid traverses in the X and Y axes of 1,378 inches per minute and 1,181 inches per minute in the Y-axis. As with all Hurco U-Series 5-axis machines, the VMX30Ui was designed with an integrated trunnion table, which provides more clearance in the Z-axis and facilitates heavier parts, instead of just mounting a table on a 3-axis machine. Additionally, it is equipped with the integrated Hurco control that has numerous features for easy 5-sided conversational programming that eliminates the need for a CAM system. The versatility of the control is especially valuable to job shops because it supports both conversational programming and Industry Standard NC. Brooks Associates will also exhibit the Hurco VMX24HSi high-speed mill and the TM6i slant-bed lathe.
Greenleaf Corporation will exhibit the Hurco VM10i mill at Booth 5317. The VM10i has a small footprint with a large work cube. At both booths, attendees will see Hurco’s patented motion system in action. UltiMotion was invented by Hurco and simultaneously reduces cycle time up to 30% and improves surface finish quality.
