Hurco 5-Axis North American Tour Kicks Off at Machinery Sales Company Open House in California

INDIANAPOLIS—Hurco’s “Take 5 for 5-axis” North American Tour will stop in Southern California at the Machinery Sales Co. (MASCO) Open House May 6th and May 7th from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Take 5 Tour is traveling across the USA to expose shop owners to 5-axis technology that will expand their profit power and their people power.


The Hurco 5-axis tour kicks off with a webinar April 16th and then hits the road with stops at the showrooms of our valued distributor partners in addition to trade shows throughout the USA,” said Maggie Smith, Marketing Manager for Hurco Companies, Inc. “Additionally, we have launched a new 5-axis educational website called, which contains materials and webinars designed to help shop owners and machinists learn about five axis machining at their own pace,” continued Smith.


Attendees at the MASCO Open House will learn how to determine whether transitioning to a 5-sided process for existing work will benefit their business, how to decide which configuration of 5-axis machine has the most benefits for their parts, and what questions to ask sales engineers during the purchasing process. The second session will focus on simultaneous 5-axis machining.


MASCO Open HouseIn addition to informing attendees about 5-axis CNC mills, Mike Cope, Senior Product Specialist for Hurco, will educate attendees about the myriad of issues surrounding 5-axis machining, including workholding, tool path strategies, and CAD/CAM packages. Cope is a machinist, former shop owner, and applications engineer. He is the author of the Machinist CNC Blog and has been the featured speaker at numerous industry events throughout the USA, Canada, and Asia.
