Hurco 5-Axis Machine Promotes Manufacturing Efficiency

Published: 3/27/2011

INDIANAPOLIS—The VMX60U 5-axis vertical machining center provides more Z-axis clearance and increased part capacity due to the fully-integrated trunnion table design. The Hurco control powered by WinMax® is fully compatible with CAM systems for NC programming, but also has 5-sided conversational programming that doesn’t require a CAM system. Using 5-sided conversational programming, machinists can program the part at the control and benefit from significant reductions in setup time and increased accuracy compared to machining the part on a 3-axis machining center.

Specifications of the VMX60U include travels of 42/26/24”, rapids of 1,181 (X and Y) and 787 (Z) inches per minute, a 12K spindle standard with 15K High Speed and 10K High Torque options available, a 40-station swing-arm ATC, and  a machine weight of 18,800 lbs.
