DXF Transfer saves time and eliminates programming errors
The easiest and quickest way to get projects to the machining stage is to simply import the CAD image into Hurco’s control with the DXF Transfer software.
This feature saves time in two ways. Importing the CAD image is dramatically quicker than any programming method since all of the part geometry is automatically downloaded. Secondly, data entry mistakes are eliminated because tool paths are created directly from the geometry of the CAD-generated .dxf file (Data eXchange Format).
With DXF Transfer, you can create conversational part features for mills including pocket boundaries, pocket islands, hole operations, and 2D geometry swept or translated for simple 3D mold features.
The DXF programming interface allows you to edit DXF geometry, automatically chain contours, and select a group of hole operations based on hole diameter. The interface is so simple and easy to use that it will save programming time and reduce programming errors.
The DXF Transfer feature is also available for lathes. The part setup features let you easily define or select centerlines and coordinates from any DXF drawing. You can create ID and OD profiles and grooves. You can create ID and OD threads including tapered threads. You can also create face threads and program a cutoff operation.
Programming turned parts has never been easier.
Unique aspects of DXF Transfer
- Convert CAD drawing data directly into machine program language at the machine tool using tooling and fixturing at hand. All programming can be done concurrently while the machine tool is producing a completely different part.
- Ideal for short run production, prototypes and custom tooling. No need for offline programming overhead and scheduling bottlenecks.
- Handles all 2D geometries on each plane of the part. Multiple part planes can be linked into a single program for extremely efficient processing of complex parts on compound rotary tables.
