Hurco Event Emphasized Productivity and Growth Potential
News Release

INDIANAPOLIS At Hurco's 7th Annual Technology Seminar and Brickyard Track Day event held at the company's Indianapolis headquarters, customers learned about technology innovations that will give them measurable productivity gains through machine demonstrations, seminars, vendor exhibits, and a programming contest. Hurco had demonstrations running on 19 machines and gave attendees a preview of several new machines, such as the VMIP, VMX84, and the VMX42SR.

The VM1P combines the efficient design of the popular Hurco VM1—small footprint with an exceptionally large work cube—with production specs, such as faster rapids, chip-to-chip time of less than 3 seconds, and the ability to tap at 4,000 rpm. The demonstration on the VMX42SR illustrated the 5-Axis machining center's ability to simplify programming of complex parts and to provide the accuracy required to machine swept surfaces. With travels of 84/34/30, the VMX84 drew interest from customers who make large parts. The VM1P and VMX42SR will be available later this year while the VMX84 has already been launched.

One of the technical seminars provided attendees with information about 5-Axis machining techniques and illustrated how Hurco WinMax control software simplifies programming of complex parts. The other seminar showed shop owners how they can track various industries to identify growth potential.

New this year, Hurco added a Print to Part Programming Contest due to attendee comments from previous years that said they wanted to interact with the Hurco control. More than 30 percent of the attendees participated in the inaugural Print to Part Contest with the winner receiving a Gerstner Tool Chest. The Print to Part Programming Contest illustrated the power of the WinMax graphical interface and graphical features in simplifying part programming. After prize drawings and a catered lunch, customers enjoyed Hurco's hospitality at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway to watch practice prior to the Allstate 400 Race at the Brickyard.
