Hurco to demonstrate expanded product line at WESTEC
Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS—Hurco will officially kick off its 40th Anniversary at the WESTEC 2008 Exposition March 31-April 3 in Los Angeles, Calif., by featuring three of its newest machines that exemplify the kind of leading edge innovation Hurco continues to develop for its customers.

WESTEC attendees who visit Hurco Booth 2500 will see the VMX42SR, Hurco's newest 5-axis machining center; the VM1P production machining center; and the TMM8 lathe with live tooling.

"These three machines illustrate the continuing expansion of our product line that enables us to reach more customers who are looking for the type of measurable productivity improvements that our integrated control with WinMax® delivers," said Jim Kawaguchi, General Manager of Hurco USA.

The VMX42SR

Hurco designed the VMX42SR with a swivel head and horizontal rotary table to meet the demands of 5-axis machining without taking up the floor space typically required. In addition to a small footprint, the VMX42SR includes a special version of WinMax control software specifically designed to simplify setup and programming of complex, multi-sided parts. The VMX42SR delivers greater part accuracy with digital drives, larger ball screws, larger linear rails, and heavier servo drives.

The TMM8

The newest line of multi-tasking machines from Hurco includes the TMM8 and the TMM10. The TMM lathes with live tooling include C-axis standard and programming to .001 of a degree. The 8” chuck TMM8 is a multitasking lathe designed with a wide door for easy operator access. Any station can be a live tool and Hurco uses a fast servo turret instead of a hydraulic turret to increase productivity. With one setup, the TMM saves time and eliminates inaccuracy that occurs with refixturing.

The VM1P

The VM1P has all of the specifications to meet the speed and reliability needed for production machining—fast rapids, fast tool changes, and the ability to tap at 4,000 rpm. Unlike other machines in its class, the VM1P is a true vertical machining center with drill/tap functionality instead of a drill/tap machine that has minimal milling capability. Rigid, fine grain, cast iron C-frame design with solid construction make the VM1P rugged enough for rigorous cycles and lights out machining.
